In the week or so since my last (and first) Individual Liberty Journal entry a good amount of progress has been made. Undertaking this personal project has filled me with a new sense of motivation to tackle the things that I have put off for far too long. Like any mass which is gaining momentum the pace has not exactly been blinding thus far. But it is important to bite off only what I can chew. Particularly given the fact that this activist is a single father with a full time job.

Bank Run:

In a follow up to last weeks entry, the verdict is in. A Credit Union has been selected to be the primary depository of my hard earned Federal Reserve notes. I am confident this establishment will serve my needs as well as, if not better than the mega-bank I am running head-long away from. An entry outlining the determining factors in my decision will be posted in a few days.

School Choice / Reason Foundation Cocktail Party:

I am fortunate to have a friend who is very connected and active in the freedom movement. His name is Judd Weiss, and he holds the unofficial title of “THE Libertarian Party Planner”. He has hosted such speakers as Gary Johnson, Peter Schiff and Adam Kokesh at his sophisticated and stimulating cocktail parties in the hills of Bel Air, overlooking the beautiful Getty Museum.

As part of my quest to be as engaged in the movement as possible, I have decided never to make excuses when events come up. If it fits in my schedule I will be there. So when I got word of the latest mixer at the premier liberty-lover’s hangout in L.A. I had to make it happen. Although, with the quality of company Judd’s parties attract and the stunning location of this even, the topic of discussion could have been basket weaving and I still would have found a way to make it.

I attended his latest party on Tuesday the 24th of January. It featured four speakers on the national subject of the week, School Choice, and was co-hosted by the Reason Foundation. It was great to see the former DC Mayor Adrian Fenty, Orange County Register columnist Brian Calle, Ca Teachers Empowerment Networks Larry Sand and the Reason Foundations Lisa Snell discuss a subject which is very important to the national dialog. Specifically because it facilitates a more free, and less centrally controlled society. All the talks focused around one subject, strategies for transcending the Federal monopoly on education.

I’m not going to lie… It was amazing to mingle with such passionate and active people in the burgeoning movement. The people I particularly wanted to see were the Los Angeles crew of the Reason Foundation. Namely the wonderful David Nott and Melissa Palmer. I had befriended them in Vegas last year during the annual Freedom Fest and always look forward to their great conversation. There may also be an aspect of personal aspiration to eventually work for their great organization behind my motives. I have already done some work for them in the form of designing an insert featured in their Special Reason Edition of the Atlas Shrugged DVD. Here is to hoping for more!

Documentary Night:

For years I have enjoyed finding ways of engaging my friends in asking questions about our currently established paradigm. I am definitely one to bring up politics in just about any social situation, awkward silences be damned!

I have decided to re-institute a staple in my arsenal of peer-to-peer awakening. I call it “Documentary Night” and it is pretty much exactly as the title describes. A weekly gathering of friends and acquaintances for some intellectual stimulation. It mainly consists of good food, good beer, hopefully a good documentary, and inevitably great conversation. I highly recommend you try this within your circle of friends. First documentary on the list is the intriguing production called THRIVE. It has a strange mix of information covering free energy, alien technology, social engineering, the Federal Reserve system scam, and the global economic hegemony of the elites. This one is sure to raise eyebrows throughout the group. I’ll provide my critique of the film once it has been viewed and thoroughly analyzed.

Daily Victory

I have lagged on mentioning a couple great benchmarks in my viral marketing campaign for Ron Paul.

While I have heard stories of my viral stickers being spotted in cities throughout the country, I received a particularly interesting email from a We Are Change member out of the Florida chapter. They had taken a file found at my other site, thePosterRevolution.com and used it to create ten 10ft tall banners to be displayed in the weeks preceding the Florida Presidential Primaries. Glad I could be of assistance!

A couple weeks back I came across something that seriously made my day, err week. Maybe even my whole month! I caught a YouTube clip of Adam Kokesh doing his thing on the now web based Adam vs the Man. In this interview he was wearing my R3VOLUTION 2.0 t-shirt I had given him when I met him in New York City this past year for Liberty Fest (not to be confused with Freedom Fest). It was just great to see my work out there in the world, and I had to chuckle with delight when I heard the catty liberal woman he interviewed complaining about my shirt. Mission accomplished!

Daily Fail

I totally spaced on my local Ron Paul Meetup groups booth at this weekends Gun Show held at the OC Fair Grounds. Me, my dad and my brother went to do some Saturday morning arms browsing. But upon entering the event I saw the RP crew and their booth. I was just a little embarrassed to say hi to the crew then promptly leave them to educate the masses without my assistance. What was that about no excuses?
