In “the Matrix” Agent Smith spouts a fancifully-cancerful diatribe to a bloodied and bound Morpheus, in which he spitefully characterizes the human race as a cancer, out of balance with the rest of the natural world.
The concept that the human race can be compared to a cancer on our planet has been mused by the media and by the many for years. It is powerful imagery that resonates in times of eco tragedy, much like we see with today’s oil-spill in the Gulf of Mexico. It also is powerfully relatable, having the ability to make us, as individuals more mindful of our actions. Just like a cancer victim adjusts their lifestyle to rid their own bodies of cancer.
Though simultaneously, and equally, it can have a depressing effect. A defeating seed to plant in your sub-conscious, leading to negative thought and negative, hasty and misinformed action. This type of thinking often produces a self-fulfilling prophecy. In a sense we become what we identify with, very much like we are what we eat. Recognizing a destructive tendency, but only addressing it with pessimism causes the human mind to go one of two ways. On one hand the problem festers, anxiety boils and emotion hardens logical analysis. Unfortunately we see a large segment of people (but certainly not all) who take on this burden in the environmental movement. They are identified by their judgmentalism and their willingness to support any legislation, product, or personality; that appears to take a similar stance regardless of whether they understand their content and consequences. This is how quack ideas like carbon taxes gain so much traction. It is the “doing something is better than doing nothing” mentally, which is often referred to as “Haste” (not often seen in relative proximity of “Wisdom”). It also results in acts of vandalism and even violence when people are so vehemently attached to an idea, backed by only negativity, self loathing and fear. Put quite harshly the human-cancer perception meme makes one hate their own kind.
On the other hand the Human-Cancer parallel can create a culture of cynicism. My definition of cynicism in this context equates to a begrudging acceptance of our conditioned “lot in life”, covered by a thin veil of humor so as not to become TOO uncomfortable. Sadly this acceptance-turned-indifference enables the Washington Mafia to restrict our rights and our resources, and to steal our countries wealth and our citizen’s livelihoods, with out so much as a groan from the public. This is what Albert Einstein meant when he said “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.”. In some cases they do nothing out of distraction, or ignorance of the issues. However with such a propagandized concept as this, all too many are complacent to stand up for themselves, their family, and their country because it is what they are conditioned to do. This is the heart of the Socialist model. “Collectivism”, the melding of your identities with a collective, or the the abandonment of individual rights for the “greater good”. In fact in a book published by the Club of Rome (A progressive globalist think tank) the top leaders of the world specifically called for engineered crisis such as Global Warming, Water Shortages and Overpopulation as a uniting threat in which citizens would willingly forego their national sovereignty and personal freedoms in effort avert cataclysm.
But I don’t buy into this nihilist fantasy. In fact I have a radically different view of the species which is empowering, rather than defeating. I have more faith and compassion for the human race. Our species has an untested potential, the magnitude of which we are not yet even nearly able to recognize. When unrestricted, we meager humans can create paradigm shifting works of literature, revolutionizing technologies and even inspiringly altruistic communities that make you wonder why we need bureaucracy at all.
A long time ago I had a paradigm shift of my own. By stepping back from my distorted little lens I call my 5 senses, I looked upon the planet as a singular living entity. This idea is nothing new, and has actually been labeled the Gaia Theory. A theory which itself has fallen to propagandizing and exploitation by our doting masters. My vision however focused on the bio-sphere of the planet. I could see the seas as its blood, the forests as its lungs, the lower species as its digestive system and the higher species as its various organs. Though when I turned my attention to the Human race I did not see it as this malignant growth upon an innocent creature. Instead I looked at people as the brain of the planet. The highest evolved and most complex system in the whole world-body. I like to think of the race as the grand expression of the planet. Even better, the manifesting consciousness of mother earth.
Though no species is without its initial naivety. The process of trial and error is universal. That is inherent to growth and advancement. Whereas some would choose to look at pollution, over fishing and deforestation as signs that we are a scourge of a presence, I chose to look at these important issues as milestones in our evolution. Like a child must burn its hand to truly understand the dangers of a flame, we are learning from our mistakes and eventually will be able to find our balance, and ultimately our place in the world.
But the true glory of our time lies in a revolutionary step we made in the last 20 years. That of course is the internet. I feel that this is the first inkling of self-perception. The awareness of how truly connected we are. With the ability to learn at a rate never experienced by our ancestor, and the freedom to share, collaborate, communicate and ultimately empathize with people instantly around the world; the brain has reached a point in development where we are realizing who and what we are. At the same time we are realizing the massive mistakes we have made along our journey to this point. There is no way to tell at this time just what repercussions we will see from the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, but without a doubt it will cause us to look at ourselves and see the destructive capabilities we poses. That realization will ultimately lead to good.
However, my philosophy is not all rainbows and butterflies. The concept of cancer may still be relevant, though to a more limited extent. This is a threat which has been diagnosed some time ago by great minds such as G. Edward Griffin and George Orwell, but in which we are just now starting to come to terms with. Like cancer, it is not an organism, or in this case an organ unto itself. It is a subset of a bigger system which has deviated from its established purpose and has taken on an agenda of its own. Im talking about our illegitimate shadow government structure. Sure it sounds spooky, but with a high-school level researching ability, and a stomach of steel, the truth about this matter is painfully obvious. In its current manifestation it is attempting to blackmail the world into global governance. It is also exploiting the awakening realizations of environmental responsibility and turning it into a vehicle towards its goal of world wide united fascism.
The question is, what will come out on top? Cancer or Consciousness?
I have heard many people take that famous line in the Matrix as a shocking truth revealed by the villain. Though my perception is one of irony. Irony that the machine-hive controlled avatar known as Agent Smith accuses the human race of infecting and killing the planet. Though the machines are a malicious tangent of the human race. An out of control creation, imprisoning and exploiting its creators then blaming them for the evils of the world. This to me sounds more like the relationship between the people and the elites. Much like the virtual world of the matrix, through carefully manipulation of our perceptions via corporate media, and military-industrial subsidized Hollywood, they create the crisis, and control the reaction. Though the reaction is stacked very much in their favor. For their maximized profit.

Being a marketing professional I tend to see the sales pitch in everything. In reality, P.R. and Propaganda are indistinguishable. So I have taken it upon myself to show you how I see things through trained eyes.
